Malaysia and Thailand Join Forces to Aid Stranded Malaysians
In the wake of devastating floods in Hat Yai, Thailand, the Malaysian government is taking swift action to assist its citizens. According to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Foreign Ministry and the Thai Government will collaborate to provide support to the approximately 4,000 Malaysians currently stranded in the affected areas.
The government is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens. They will receive regular updates on the flood situation from the Malaysian Consulate General in Songkhla, allowing for efficient coordination with the Thai authorities and the Songkhla governor. The plan is to facilitate the safe return of these Malaysians to their homes.
Dr. Hamidi emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the stranded Malaysians want to return home as soon as possible. To expedite this process, the government may utilize heavy vehicles to transport them back to their respective regions. This collaborative effort between Malaysia and Thailand highlights the importance of international cooperation in times of crisis.
